WASHINGTON, DC (November 9, 1998)- The Holiday Inn Central hotel on 15th Street and
Rhode Island Avenue, NW has won the Bass Hotels & Resorts 1998 Quality Excellence Award,
given only to hotels achieving distinction in all aspects of their operations.
The Holiday Inn Central is one of 125 properties selected from the company's more than
2600 hotels in recognition of overall quality excellence.
The hotel was honored during a special ceremony held at the annual Bass Hotels & Resorts
Worldwide Conference in New Orleans, La. James Hagerty/General Manager of the Holiday Inn Central
accepted the award.
"The Quality Excellence Award demands a strong commitment to excellence that sets the
standard for all Bass Hotels & Resorts properties around the world," said Thomas R. Oliver,
chairman and CEO if Bass Hotels & Resorts. "This honor is awarded to hotels by the people
who know us best - our customers.
It is my privilege to honor the Holiday Inn Central with this award."
More than 2,800 franchise owners and company officials attended the Bass Hotels & Resorts 1998 Worldwide Conference.
Our lobby has just undergone an extensive renovation consisting of mahogany wood trim framing the front desk, granite tile throughout, a revamped coffee station, and newly appointed furnishings.
